Mailchimp Product Pulse — May 2025 Recap
Mailchimp had a packed month of new releases. Here's a rundown of what's new:
SMS Age Gating Alcohol brands can now use Mailchimp SMS marketing with a built-in age gating feature. Birthdates are collected at sign-up for verification but not stored — only a pass/fail flag is saved per contact. Underage contacts are added as non-subscribed. Supported across ~85% of SMS-enabled countries, with pop-up and landing forms included.
Branded Templates Brand kit assets — logos, fonts, colors, and button styles — can now be applied to email templates in one click. Available on paid plans globally.
Pop-Up Form Design Agent An AI agent is now built into the pop-up form builder, letting you create and edit forms using plain natural language. Available across all plans and Mailchimp-supported languages.
Section Manager The new email builder now lets you save, reuse, and manage content blocks across templates — great for things like social media icon footers you use repeatedly. Available in the new drag-and-drop builder.
Marketing Analytics AI A conversational AI assistant lets you query your campaign, audience, and revenue data directly inside Mailchimp using plain language. Requires admin permissions and at least one campaign sent in the last 30 days. Paid plans only.
Meta Lead Ads — SMS Support The existing Meta Lead Ads integration now syncs SMS phone numbers in addition to email. Requires a paid plan with an active SMS add-on.
Site Tracking Pixel A new tracking pixel captures real-time behavioral data — product views, cart additions, purchases, and abandoned carts — and feeds it into Mailchimp for segmentation, automations, and reporting. Currently supports Shopify, Wix, and WooCommerce.
